Young lives matter

Matthew 19:13-15 AMPC

Then little children were brought to Jesus, that He might put His hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. [14] But He said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for of such [as these] is the kingdom of heaven composed. [15] And He put His hands upon them, and then went on His way.

Yesterday, there was a terribly disturbing video of a boy of 6 years old being slowly starved and abused then murdered by his dad and step mum. The jury in the court case were shown the clip to demonstrate what young Arthur had endured prior to his murder.

There in black and white you could see his emaciated body and desperate face crying out nobody loves me, nobody is going to feed me!

Who can understand the depths of cruelty emanating from those who should have cared for him?

His post mortem showed over 100 injuries on his little body.

I am totally convinced that Arthur is now in the Strong Arms of the Eternal Love of Jesus, who we see welcomed and blessed children in His earthly life.

Never ever prevent anyone coming to Jesus because of their young age.

If they have that longing for the Lord Jesus, they should be allowed to join in and be part of the family of God.

My mum and dad were only too thrilled when, at 6 years old, I gave my heart to Jesus.

You're never too young to be born again!

(Actually, never too old either!)

Rejoice in the fact that you are in the family of God and have equal standing no matter how young you are!

Us oldies have much to learn from simple, childlike faith of young lives.

Matthew 21:15-16 AMPC

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He did and the boys and the girls and the youths and the maidens crying out in the porches and courts of the temple, Hosanna (O be propitious, graciously inclined) to the Son of David! they were indignant. [16] And they said to Him, Do You hear what these are saying? And Jesus replied to them, Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouths of babes and unweaned infants You have made (provided) perfect praise?

Psalm 8:2

You have taught the little children to praise you perfectly. May their example shame and silence your enemies!
