1 Chronicles 29:14 AMPC
But who am I, and what are my people, that we should retain strength and be able to offer thus so willingly? For all things come from You, and out of Your own [hand] we have given You.
A Word from the shower this morning:
"All things come from You, and of Your Own do we give You"...
That is the Anglican prayer said over the offerings during the Holy Communion service.
Until I looked it up, I didnt realise that it was taken from the passage above!
It was part of David's grateful prayer for all the blessings that the Lord had poured out on the Land.
As I washed myself off, I thought how the Lord had provided in my own life.
Yes, I know I went to the supermarket and bought the shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, but who gave me the wealth, the job, the strength to enable this to happen?
The Lord is the Source of it all.
So when I am able to give, I'm only giving out of what God has put into my hands.
I'm not the source, He is!
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 AMPC
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and the earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and Yours it is to be exalted as Head over all. [12] Both riches and honour come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hands are power and might; in Your hands it is to make great and to give strength to all.
At the start of the day, it is good to remind myself of the peerless ascendancy of Our Heavenly Father and how bountiful are His blessings and gifts to us.
Father God, thank You for all the blessings that are ours in Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit fill our hearts with gratefulness, remembering that all we have comes from You.
