Worthless leaders

Childish leaders oppress my people, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you; they send you down the wrong road. The LORD takes His place in court and presents His case against His people. The LORD comes forward to pronounce judgment on the elders and rulers of His people: “You have ruined Israel, my vineyard. Your houses are filled with things stolen from the poor. How dare you crush my people, grinding the faces of the poor into the dust?” demands the Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Isaiah 3:12-15

Honestly, reading the words of Isaiah, you can almost see where we are today.

The nations are ruled by worthless leaders. Leaders who are callous and arrogant, loving the sound of their own voices.

Making hard rules to follow, whilst lining their own pockets, and treading on the needs of the poor.

This does not go unnoticed by the Lord.

There will be a day of Reckoning!

Look to history and see what has happened to arrogant leaders who have oppressed their nations.

God will deal with them in His anger.

I think of the ignominy that came upon Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi in recent times and Hitler further back.

It will come upon all leaders who lie and oppress in their arrogance.

Jesus' Way is far different:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:2-10

Don't envy the worthless leaders, their time will evaporate like water.

God holds them in derision

Psalm 2:4

He has a date in His diary to bring them to account.

In the meantime, never lose your grip on God's Word and His Spirit of Truth.

Listen to and follow His Voice of Reason.
