Wisdom and power

1 Corinthians 1:5 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

1 Corinthians 2:2

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

There's much talk in the news about who is the most powerful nation, who has the biggest army and the largest stockpile of weapons.

Threats are being made by tyrants about using nuclear warheads. People are being forcibly conscripted into a war against their will.

It seems that power and wisdom rest in the hands of the wicked.

But humans can boast and threaten as much as they like, yet they will come to nothing.

1 Corinthians 2:6

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

In our weakness, Jesus has given us His power & wisdom.

Through prayer we have weaponry more powerful than nuclear bombs!!

2 Corinthians 10:3-4

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Satan wants to disarm us and neutralise us into prayerlessness.

He wants to deceive us into thinking that we are powerless in the face of so many difficulties.

Encourage yourself in Jesus, right now - dare to pray big prayers.

God is waiting to bring His power and wisdom to bear in multiple situations.

Today be one of the foolish things that confounds the wise - one of the weak ones that overcomes the strong!

What was the young David against the giant Goliath, with all his threats, armour and weaponry?

The difference was David knew the Lord!

1 Corinthians 1:27

[No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.
