Wisdom

Revelation 13:18

This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

There are many conspiracy theories circulating around social media right now - talking about what is happening in our world.

With masks being compulsory for shopping around the globe, it's not too far a stretch to see that what was prophesied in Revelation. 13 is on the horizon. I'm pinching JD Farag's quote - from "masks" to "marks" - are we being pre-conditioned, ready for something far more sinister?

The Bible clearly states that we need wisdom and discernment.

In the above passage it is speaking about a specific issue - the appearance and identity of the Antichrist.

Revelation Chapter 13, for me, forewarns of some awe-inspiring events to come, which are hard to understand.

Certainly it requires some special insight and wisdom.

Wisdom was the attribute that king Solomon asked God for in 1 Kings 3.

If God appeared to you, what would you ask for?

Probably wisdom wouldn't be first on the list!

How we need God-given insight and understanding to discern the times in which we live, so that we are not led astray or deceived.

Proverbs 9:10 reveals how to start to find wisdom [excuse me for quoting]:

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Ok, every building needs a good foundation - what am I building on? Let's build our lives wisely:

Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Let's build on Jesus, the source of all wisdom.

Colossians 2:3 AMPC

In Him (Christ) all the treasures of [divine] wisdom ( comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.

Father God, help me to seek You and your wisdom in these uncertain times, I ask it in Jesus' name.
