Whose holding who?

John 10:28-30 AMPC

And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand. [29] My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father's hand. [30] I and the Father are One.

Yesterday I was talking with someone who said that they had lost their faith.

He said that he had tried to hold on, but his faith was almost non-existent!

Rather than give a superficial reply, I just tucked it away in my heart. Better to pray about it than say something trite.

Obviously the guy wanted to believe and felt the need of belief, but had lost his grip for one reason or another.

A good father will never let go of his child in a dangerous situation, even though the child may struggle in that embrace. He holds on regardless of how hard the child tries to escape.

Is God any less than an earthly father? No way!

Jesus makes it very plain that no one can snatch us out of His Hand once we are His.

He's holding us and not the other way around.

I'm so glad that it's not down to me to maintain my salvation.

We are upheld by those Everlasting Arms!

Deuteronomy 33:27 AMPC

The eternal God is your refuge and dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

Father God, I pray for all who think they've lost their faith. Please give them spiritual eyesight to see Your Everlasting Arms holding them secure. Help them to see Jesus anew and His love for them. Amen.
