Wholehearted

Luke 11:9-10 AMPC

So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. [10] For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.

As a football fan, I love to watch a striker going for goal, forging past reckless tackles, determined to score.

A great goalscorer has fire in his belly - there's nothing half hearted about him.

Ian Wright, at his peak, had that determination "in spades".

Many times I watched him, small in stature, out jump big centre backs to a header, out muscle stronger players, just because he was passionate.

He was focussed on the goal and his enthusiasm was infectious.

Similarly, Jesus tells us that, spiritually, the wholehearted WILL gain an answer.

Those who claim that there is no God have never sought Him earnestly.

For the Lord promises:

Jeremiah 29:13 AMPC

Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Passively indifferent "believers" will never attain the goal of abundant living for Jesus.

Half hearted prayers never rise further than the ceiling!!

God challenges us to ASK HIM, SEEK HIM AND, IF NECESSARY KNOCK DOWN THE DOOR OF HEAVEN.

Satan whispers: "God isn't listening, you might as well give up!"

That's the time to redouble our efforts and "go for goal", that whisper is the enemy's last ditch tackle!

God is faithful and WILL answer.
