Who's your friend?

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

Proverbs 13:20

It makes a big difference who we choose as friends - they have an enormous influence on us.

If you have a friend with a huge slice of common sense (wisdom), it will rub off on you.

Conversely, being with people who have no sense of right and wrong, that too will have consequences!

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

1 Corinthians 15:33

Each of us can look back over our lives and see where we've been led astray by others.

I remember being taunted at school by kids saying: "Don't be a goody-goody" and being led into all sorts of antics and pranks that got me into trouble!

It may seem that the "fools" have more fun and freedom, but it's a deception.

If you don't apply yourself to learning and think only of pleasure and fun you'll end up in poverty and ruin.

Choose friends that have good hearts and common sense.

Above all choose the friendship of Jesus - He's a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24

Vote of thanks

Thank you to all my friends who have stuck close to me - you are gifts from Jesus - saving me from my foolish self!

Who can you thank God for this morning?
