Isaiah 40:22
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
There's a bird of prey, maybe a kite or a sparrow hawk, often he is hovering over the hills above us, looking for a bird or a mouse to dive on and eat up!
The unsuspecting prey has no idea that they are being monitored, scanned for an opportune moment when they are off guard. Then, with a startlingly swift swoop, the predator dives on it's target and it is no more.
I recall, with horror, watching sparrows feed on our lawn, when suddenly, a sparrow hawk, descended and pounced on one young sparrow and flew away with it in its beak. No matter how hard I screamed, I couldn't rescue it.
A similar larger bird of prey we spotted flying over Ein Ovdat nature reserve in the Negev Desert back in 2017.
Satan is much like a bird of prey, hovering over the unsuspecting believer - looking for some weakness or vulnerability, ready to sweep us away taking our faith too.
Thankfully oh! so thankfully, there is a higher power, the power of Our Loving Heavenly Father who is watching over us.
We are vulnerable, yes, we are, but, like a bear cub is easy prey, without it's mother. Believers are weak, but as long as the Lord is watching out for us, we have a higher power to take care of our enemies.
Be comforted by the words of Isaiah 40:10-15
Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Who has measured the Spirit of the LORD, or what man shows him his counsel? Whom did he consult, and who made him understand? Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales; behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust.
Whether we realise it or not, the actuality of things, is that our real life is seated in Heavenly places with Christ.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus
Ephesians 2:6
That should boost up your faith this Monday morning - go out victorious!
