Who does my soul bless?

Psalm 103:21-22 NKJV

Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure. [22] Bless the LORD, all His works, In all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

The whole cosmos was created for the worship of its Creator.

As we've read in this Psalm - the heavens, the earth, all created beings were made to actively bless the Lord.

Our chief purpose is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.

When we exchange this first function to spend our time trying to please ourselves, then we end up in a broken mess.

It's like trying to run a diesel car on petrol!

Our soul is created for worship and, if we don't worship the true and living God, we will either "worship" "self" or some other thing.

Watch the fans at a football match and you can clearly see "worship" on display. Songs are sung to the team and the players, hands are lifted high and there's drums, horns and clapping. It's a veritable worship service!

But a football team will let you down, even Man City will lose sometimes!!

So I ask myself this question: who is my soul blessing? Where is my devotion focused? What preoccupies my time?

If I fail to bless God FIRST, then my life is out of kilter.

But when He is first and my heart is a "worship chamber" for Him, then I'm in harmony with all creation.

Matthew 6:31-33 NKJV

"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' [32] For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. [33] But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Come bless the Lord.... you know it makes sense:
