Philippians 4:4-7 TPT
Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let joy overflow, for you are united with the Anointed One! [5] Let gentleness be seen in every relationship, for our Lord is ever near. [6] Don't be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, [7] then God's wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
Chatting with a friend about the briefness of life yesterday, I introduced the value of having a faith which brings hope for the future.
She said that she thought she was Christian, but didn't know anything about it, because she went to church as a child.
I offered her a little book which explains the Christian faith, but she said: "No, I'm alright as I am!"
This she palpably is not.
It made me so very sad, because I've prayed and prayed about her - as she has MS and is deteriorating by the day.
So, instead of nursing my disappointment, I'm throwing it back on the Lord.
It's the Holy Spirit's work to convict and convince each individual about Jesus.
So the onus is not on me. Satan would love me to stop praying about her, but God is faithful...
Jesus said:
Matthew 7:7-8 NLT
"Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. [8] For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Lord, I bring this dear lady to you, please speak to her heart and blast through any barriers to faith in Jesus. Above all Father God, help us to fight off discouragement and keep on praying, knowing You are faithful.
Remembering my precious mum's favourite hymn:
What a friend we have in Jesus
Let's share our heart's burdens with Him right now!
