Psalm 20:1-2,7 AMPC
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the Name of the God of Jacob set you up on high [and defend you]; [2] Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion; [7] Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the Name of the Lord our God.
When trouble and hard times come, where is my trust? What weapons do I have when everything turns against me?
Verse 7 above came to me in the early hours of this morning.
My trust is in the Name above all names - Jesus.
It is His Name that has saved me, it is His Name that has kept me all my life and it is His Name that will lead me to my eternal Home with Him forever.
We see so many people putting their hope in a political party, or in their career.
How quickly can these disappoint or be destroyed!
Some trust in themselves, their physical prowess or good looks.
Friends, the march of time will snatch these away.
What about riches and fame? The same applies - they are transitory and fleeting.
Many Americans have guns in their home to protect them from break-ins. It gives them security.
There's only One Rock of Ages, One Hope that will never disappoint.
In a crumbling, tumbling world, turn to Jesus - He has weaponry that cannot be superceded.
In His Name the world will be subdued and renewed.
Those who have trusted Him to save them will never be put to shame.
It's not too late to turn your life over to Him.
With both hands take hold of Jesus and He will take hold of you and keep you safe from the coming storm.
Psalm 20:5 AMPC
We will [shout in] triumph at Your salvation and victory, and in the Name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
