What's God's pleasure?

Luke 12:32 AMPC

Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom!

This morning I had an "SOS" from someone who was in a desperate plight - boxed in by bureaucracy - her husband granted a visa, but she was declined! What a hard place to find yourself in. Where to turn for help?

Thankfully, we have the Lord to call on for that precious couple.

Alarming issues can suddenly strike us unawares and take away our peace and make us feel so very vulnerable!

These things can knock our confidence in God and make us wonder if He really cares or sees our plight.

This verse gives a precious reassurance that God is pleased to be involved in our situations.

He IS keenly aware of the the things that threaten to overwhelm us. He knows we are small, weak and powerless in many areas of life and death.

Jesus promised that this "little flock" (meaning us, who cling to Jesus) would be given the kingdom.

What does that mean: "given the kingdom" in everyday life, when situations beyond our control afflict us?

One thing it does mean is that we always have the Eternal Sovereign of the whole Cosmos to turn to when faced with an insurmountable brick wall in our lives or in the lives of others.

To all you who have responded to the prayer request, thank you, and we look for a positive outcome, because we've stood before the King of all kings and made an appeal to Him.

Let's join with all desperate hearts this morning and ask for Divine intervention for the weak and helpless.

Like Mary's prayer we rejoice:

Luke 1:46-48,50-52 AMPC

And Mary said, My soul magnifies and extols the Lord, And my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, For He has looked upon the low station and humiliation of His handmaiden. For behold, from now on all generations [of all ages] will call me blessed and declare me happy and to be envied! And His mercy (His compassion and kindness toward the miserable and afflicted) is on those who fear Him with godly reverence, from generation to generation and age to age. He has shown strength and made might with His arm; He has scattered the proud and haughty in and by the imagination and purpose and designs of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of low degree.
