1 Timothy 6:12-16 TPT
So fight with faith for the winner's prize! Lay your hands upon eternal life, for this is your calling-celebrating in faith before the multitude of witnesses! [13] So now, I instruct you before the God of resurrection life and before Jesus, the Anointed One, who demonstrated a beautiful testimony even before Pontius Pilate, [14] that you follow this commission faithfully with a clear conscience and without blemish until the appearing of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. [15] Yes, God will make His appearing in His own divine timing, for He is the exalted God, the only powerful One, the King over every king, and the Lord of power! [16] He alone is the immortal God, living in the unapproachable light of divine glory! No one has ever seen His fullness, nor can they, for all the glory and endless authority of the universe belongs to Him, forever and ever. Amen!
Yes, each of us are in a fight during this earthly life - a fight against the forces of darkness - a fight for good.
How are we to fight? That's a great question and Paul cites how Jesus witnessed before Pilate as our example.
He didn't argue His case, He simply answered Pilate's questions in a quietly measured way.
So much so that Pilate declared "I find no fault in Him!"
"Religion" had sought and brought many false accusations against Jesus. Yet He never got into a slanging match with the religiously deluded.
But He did answer honest heart questions.
So should we.
If people really want to know the truth they will listen.
John 18:37-38 TPT
Then Pilate responded, "Oh, so then you are a king?" "You are right." Jesus said, "I was born a King, and I have come into this world to prove what truth really is. And everyone who loves the truth will receive My words." [38] Pilate looked at Jesus and said, "What is truth?" As silence filled the room, Pilate went back out to where the Jewish leaders were waiting and said to them, "He's not guilty. I couldn't even find one fault with Him.
Many are asking "what is truth?" today - so be ready to tell them Who Truth is!
That is the fight we must fight with faith in the Living Lord Jesus.
