Then Pilate went back into his headquarters and called for Jesus to be brought to him. “Are you the king of the Jews?” he asked him. 34 Jesus replied, “Is this your own question, or did others tell you about me?” 35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate retorted. “Your own people and their leading priests brought you to me for trial. Why? What have you done?” 36 Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.” 37 Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” 38 “What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime.
John 18:33-38
Pontius Pilate asked a question of Jesus which is being asked over & over today: "What is truth?"
"Truth" is a word dominating the media headlines.
Truth is being weaponised, but the Bible says we must speak the truth in love:
Ephesians 4:14-15
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
We read of "my truth", "your truth", "truth bombs" as if truth is something fluid and interchangeable.
Absolutes are denied, axioms treated with derision.
If you Google "sexual identities" and you'll find this answer:
"There are many different gender identities, including male, female, transgender, gender neutral, non-binary, agender, pangender, genderqueer, two-spirit, third gender, and all, none or a combination of these."
This, friends, is what's being perpetrated as "truth"! No wonder people are in such a messed up state.
Excuses are made for downright bad behaviour and disloyalty based on "mental health issues" and human rights.
Human nature loves to blame everyone else but itself.
Coming to faith in Jesus means discarding "my truth" for THE TRUTH.
As Jesus told Pilate, all who love the truth recognise that what He says is true!
In a world of shifting sands, Jesus is the Truth on which to live and build our lives.
The Truth is that we are lost without hope unless we turn to Jesus.
Coming to Him and leaning on His Word is the key to Life eternal.
