What is in my letter?

2 Corinthians 3:3 NLT

Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This "letter" is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.

Oooh! This is a verse that "cuts to the chase"... As I read it this morning, I wondered what is being written as I live my life?

The Holy Spirit wants us each to be a "love letter" to those that we meet.

Not a dry, formal, standard leaflet that we have pushed through our doors on a daily basis, but a personalised message of caring concern.

Do my neighbours know that I care about them? Am I a living love letter from Jesus?

The Old Testament promises that the New Covenant would be written on our hearts not on stone tablets... but at times I loathe my stony heart...!

Ezekiel 36:26 AMPC

A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

This was a promise to Israel and for us too, who are "grafted in" by Jesus.

I must admit that my letters need some "Tippex" (correction fluid).... God's "Tippex" is the cleansing Blood of Jesus.

So, when I mess up (and mess up I regularly do)... there is a wondrous remedy at the Cross.

Father God, Your Word is more powerful than my mistakes. I believe that, by the Power of the Holy Spirit, You will succeed in writing Your love letter from Jesus to those around me. Please erase those bad things and grant me a clean page today in Jesus' Holy Name.
