Weakness

My strength is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9

The paradox of faith!  This verse is a real key to walking in victory for Jesus!

How can it be "when I am weak then I am strong"? It seems illogical, doesn't it?

Recently, we were making some garden furniture from some pallets. In my mind I had imagined how it could be put together, but I didn't have the tools or the strength and carpentry expertise to carry out the work.

So I called for help from some mates plus my nearest & dearest and, they came equipped for the task and were strong and skilful enough to carry it out.

If I had tried to do it in my own strength what a mess I would have made and probably would have given up!

How often do we use our own spiritual expertise in life and end up miserable and defeated, when the Holy Spirit is standing by ready with all the strength, "power tools" and ability to take the useless pallets of our life and put them together into something unique and useful for God's Kingdom.

God's Kingdom's values are upside down and back to front compared with this world's order.

Movie star super heroes put on displays of strength vanquishing their enemies by flexing their muscles ostentatiously. Yet Jesus won the greatest battle of all yielded in weakness on the cross!

So when we are seemingly weak often we're displaying the power of God.

Like Paul we'd better start boasting in our weaknesses....

But He [the Lord] said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
