Psalm 46:1
God is our Refuge and Strength, a very Present Help in trouble.
My nearest and dearest is in Israel right now, where bombs are falling and terrorists are infiltrating.
It's hard to be away from him, but thank God for the Internet, where I can speak face to face with him.
Now is the time for the "very present help" in the Psalm above.
What a wonderful comfort to know the Living God who is that VERY PRESENT HELP in our troubled, fearful times.
Yes, the bomb shelters are open in the Holy Land, the Israeli Airforce are retaliating, but the real refuge and strength comes from the Lord. He is the Power behind His people, whether they know it or acknowledge it.
God is faithful to His Word.
If my faith is only good in peaceful times, it is good for nothing!
But God wants to be that Tower of Strength no matter what is going on in our lives.
He is my bomb shelter, when bombs of bad news, loss and tragedy fall - He is there, ever faithful, ever true.
Psalm 46:7
The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
