Very present

Psalm 46:1-3 AMPC

God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. [2] Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, [3] Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

So much suffering, sorrow and destruction is going on all around the globe: Ukraine, Turkey, Syria to name but a few areas.

It's devastating in its consequences.

Where is God in all this?

He seems very far away when we look at the mass graves in Turkey and Syria and the bombed cities in Ukraine.

Yet this Psalm affirms that God is a very present help in times of trouble.

No, He's not far off and indifferent. He is working with the medics and rescuers.

Horrendous times are upon this world and more is prophecied in the Bible until Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom.

In the meantime the One source of refuge is in God.

Run to Him and stay safe in His Shelter.

Psalm 46:4-7 AMPC

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. [5] God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early [at the dawn of the morning]. [6] The nations raged, the kingdoms tottered and were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted. [7] The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

If you have trouble of any kind and your hope is in God, always remember that His Help is VERY PRESENT.
