V.E. Day
Victory in Europe
On the 8th May 1945 a hard won victory was achieved over the evil of Nazi Germany.
It was a victory over prejudice, cruelty, racism, torture, lies, dictatorship, violence and death.
It was a costly victory, bought with the blood of so many lives.
It was a victory for freedom and democracy.
There were wild celebrations in the streets where once had stalked fear.
We can rightly be proud of our country's stand in World War 2 and it is good to remember the sacrifice and celebrate the fact that, in the end, Hitler and the evil that he propagated, didn't win.
There were many leaders who inspired that victory, but we do tend to focus on Churchill and his motivational speeches which stoked the courage of the nation nearly on its knees.
You too may be on your knees right now for many different reasons, let the Word of God encourage you ...
Romans 8:37 AMPC
Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
As followers of Jesus we have our own "V.E" day!
Jesus, the greatest "Leader", won the most crucial of all victories on the cross. It was a bloody victory, but it bought a "victory everyone" can share in!
1 Corinthians 15:57 AMPC
But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Be part of the victory parade everyday!
2 For. 2:14
But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.
