Unreachable!

Psalm 18:48

You hold me safe beyond the reach of my enemies; you save me from violent opponents.

No matter how vulnerable you may be feeling today.

No matter how inadequate you may consider yourself - you are not the architect of your salvation!

Even though you are overwhelmed by circumstances and can't see a way of escape - actually you are beyond the reach of real harm.

The violent enemies of despair, disease, debt, regret, anger, resentment and betrayal may roar and riot in hot pursuit of your faith... BUT GOD won't let you be destroyed.

As it says in this Psalm, God fiercely protects us and makes us unreachable by the enemy of our souls.

Sometimes it feels like we're in a chase movie, running from a foe that's too strong for us.

Don't worry, God is an Action Hero - He intervenes - He takes up our cause and fights off the vicious spiritual attacks that we come under.

In olden times enemies used to put cities under siege to starve them into surrender.

Perhaps we can see a parallel here in the lockdown. The threats and actual closure of borders, schools, places of work all contrive to put us under house arrest.

We have been put physically, emotionally and spiritually under siege. Starved of interaction and fellowship we can feel like surrendering our faith!

Look to the Lord, He is lifting you up beyond the reach of destruction.

Satan always overplays his hand and what was meant for evil, God will turn around for good.

Psalm 18:50 AMPC

Great deliverances and triumphs gives He to His king; and He shows mercy and steadfast love to His anointed, to David and his offspring forever.

Through Jesus, we too are the offspring of David, grafted in to the promises in God's Word.

Psalm 40:2

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
