Psalm 86:5,11 AMPC
For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our trespasses, sending them away, letting them go completely and forever]; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You. [11] Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honour Your name.
There are so many seductive pulls on our time, on our thinking and desires it's so easy to be distracted and diverted away from that "one thing":
Psalm 27:4 AMPC
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.
Having a focused heart to dwell in God's Presence moment by moment seems an impossible task at times.
But Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our Constant Helper, Inspirer and Guide into what's best and gives Jesus centre stage in the essence of our being.
Have I made it too complicated?
Shouldn't I just trust that He will enable me to abide as I look to Him?
Lord please focus me in You, even in my subconscious being, let my desires be ever drawing on the abundance of Your love. Send the Holy Spirit to replenish the dryness and drench my soul with Your living water.
John 7:37-38 NLT
On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "Anyone who is thirsty may come to Me! [38] Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'"
