Romans 15:13 NKJV
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Well, I'm sure we English "hoped" we would win last night and Novak Djokovic "hoped" he would beat Alcaraz prior to their matches.
Both had their hopes ruthlessly dashed upon the rocks of reality.
It's a hollow feeling to lose hope. Many suicides are the result of such dashed hopes in life.
However, the Bible states that our God is a God of True Hope.
We can hold on to those promises though they are seemingly impossible.
We are pointed to Abraham for an example of real hope:
Romans 4:18 NKJV
who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be."
Humanly speaking he was just an old man with an equally old wife - how could he become father of many nations?
History shows it was right for him to hope in the Lord's Word of Promise.
His hope has been fulfilled.
If you too have a promise from God that seems to be unfulfilled... hope on in the power and peace of the Holy Spirit.
God doesn't lie!
We believers in Jesus all have the hope of eternal life, the hope of a new heaven and earth, the hope of Jesus' return - c'mon fellow "hopers" it WILL happen...
Father God, Your Kingdom come Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven!
