1 Corinthians 1:26-31 NKJV
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. [27] But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; [28] and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, [29] that no flesh should glory in His presence. [30] But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption- [31] that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD."
Looking at myself in the "knowledge mirror" I don't see a genius or someone who's extraordinarily bright.
Yes, I'm one of the "foolish things" that my Precious Lord has chosen to confound the wise.
As I tell my dentist when he's brandishing his various instruments of "torture": "I'm a state registered coward!"
Yes, I'm one of the weak, earthen, cracked vessels that He uses to show up His marvellous saving grace and mercy.
You know what - I'm proud to boast in my weak, helpless state - so that people will see the sheer incredible power of God at work in a hopeless sinner like me.
I cling to the Cross of Jesus, that is all I have to boast about.
The only claim to fame that I have is that Jesus has saved me, picked me out to be in His team, has washed me and has promised me a home forever in Heaven.
I'll be eternally grateful to Him and gladly bow the knee at His nail pierced feet.
It's a miracle that He chooses this foolish thing.
I'm hopelessly devoted to You Jesus. I can't wait to see You face to face.
