The strength of weakness!

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 AMPC

And to keep me from being puffed up and too much elated by the exceeding greatness (pre-eminence) of these revelations, there was given me a thorn ( a splinter) in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to rack and buffet and harass me, to keep me from being excessively exalted. [8] Three times I called upon the Lord and besought [Him] about this and begged that it might depart from me; [9] But He said to me, My grace (My favour and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! [10] So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).

Don't you hate it when you wake up at odds with the world and the "moaning monitor" is on full blast?

As much as you try, everything and everyone gets on your nerves!

Today is such a morning for me

Already I've had two unjustified moans at my nearest and dearest.

Confession is good for the soul.

Paul had great experiences and revelations from the Lord, and, God gave him a thorn in his flesh to keep him humble.

I expect it caused him to be grumpy at times. Pain can give you a short fuse!

Even though Paul prayed three times, the Lord turned down the healing. He rather gave Paul the grace to bear up under whatever the pain or problem was. So that Paul would continue to feel weak and rely moment by moment on the grace of God.

We too may have issues like that to deal with. We'd love the Lord to take it away and give us a miracle, but it doesn't happen.

Therefore we have to go to Jesus for His grace and strength to endure moment by moment.

I have already asked for forgiveness from said nearest and dearest and he's kind enough to understand.

How much more does Jesus!

It's really strange how our own weakness can make room for the strength of God to rest on us.

Thought:

How can I, a pawn, reflect the power of the King of kings?
