John 12:44-48 NLT
Jesus shouted to the crowds, "If you trust Me, you are trusting not only Me, but also God who sent Me. [45] For when you see Me, you are seeing the One who sent Me. [46] I have come as a Light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in Me will no longer remain in the dark. [47] I will not judge those who hear Me but don't obey Me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. [48] But all who reject Me and My Message will be judged on the Day of Judgment by the Truth I have spoken.
Manchester Cathedral recently allowed Muslim prayers to be said in its precincts to "celebrate" Ramadan! It was, so they say, a reaching out across a cultural divide, to foster love and acceptance.
It seems the Church of England will stand up for and allow anything apart from standing up for Jesus and His Message.
Easter is now to be called a "bank holiday" so that we don't offend those of other and of no faith!
So aren't we slamming the Door of Salvation shut in the faces of those who desperately need the Hope that only Jesus can give?
In our reading above, Jesus boldly shouts, yes, SHOUTS to the crowd.
He was no "shrinking violet".
He made it crystal clear that He was the Human Manifestation of God.
"If you've seen Me, you've seen God!"
That would have been highly controversial and even offensive to orthodox Jews at that time (and today)!
"but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles"
1 Corinthians 1:23
Unashamedly, I state that there is NO ROOM for other faiths. There is only One Way to be saved.
During this Holy Week let's be proud of Jesus and His Eternal Sacrifice on the Cross. As the old hymn states:
"There was NO OTHER good enough to pay the price of sin
HE ONLY could unlock the Door of Heaven and let us in!"
