Isaiah 62:1-3 NLT
Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch. [2] The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the LORD's own mouth. [3] The LORD will hold you in his hand for all to see- a splendid crown in the hand of God.
Our old conservatory didn't do the job we wanted for it. It was draughty, too hot in summer, too cold in winter and too small to entertain our friends and family.
For a long time we thought about making it bigger and better. Then there came a time of demolition and rebuilding.
Now it's done and what a "wow" it is. It is much better than we imagined.
God has plans for Jerusalem.
At present it is a place of dispute.
It has been desecrated by many wars and other religious buildings dominate the skyline, not of God's choosing!
It doesn't "do the job" He wants for it. So He's going to remake it brand new.
As Christians, do we have zeal in our hearts over this?
Do we include Jerusalem in our prayers as we are invited to do?
Psalm 122:6-9 NLT
Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. [7] O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. [8] For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, "May you have peace." [9] For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.
Yes, God has His plans for a new Jerusalem where He will live among us. It's going to be our home, so it has to be big enough.
Revelation 21:1-4 NLT
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. [2] And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. [3] I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, God's home is now among His people! He will live with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them. [4] He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."
The new Jerusalem is being built by God's own Hand and designed amazingly. We will gasp in wonder at it.
Read the whole of Revelation 21 where we are given the design details - amazing!
Father God inspire my heart to pray for and long for my eternal home - the new Jerusalem where we will dwell forever with You in endless adoration and peace.
