Isaiah 30:21 NKJV
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
Psalm 32:8-9 NKJV
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. [9] Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.
Many times I've been the mule that the Lord describes in this Psalm.
Sadly, He has had to use the "bit" of circumstances to bring me into line with Him, because I wouldn't heed His Voice.
Such is the mercy of Jesus, via the Holy Spirit, that He has continued His work in my life in spite of my rebellion.
Thankfully, although I may be like a mule, at least I am God's mule and He is kind to His own.
It's a very humbling experience to have to admit that I'm wrong.
Many times I've chosen a way that "seems" right only to find that it is a cul-de-sac of my own making - a seriously dead end.
Then I have to turn around and face my spiritual blindness, throwing myself on the mercy of the Lord.
If only I had listened in the first place!.
Our Father God is always speaking through His Word, but I have to take note and heed His advice or take the subsequent consequences.
The same goes for a nation.
Today we commemorate 80 years since D-day - the Normandy Landings that claimed so many young lives - but instigated the liberation from the evil Nazis.
As I watched the memorials taking place I was struck by how far we have strayed from God.
The King's grandfather, George VI, wasn't afraid to call the nation to prayer back then. He was truly "Defender of The Faith" in Jesus.
Now we are left with our national faith in tatters, pandering to "diversity" and "multiculturalism"...
What happened to:
O God our Help in ages past
Our Hope for years to come
Our Shelter from the stormy blast
And our Eternal Home
Jesus is still The Way, The Truth and The Life - we need to wake up and follow Him unafraid of offence.
