Matthew 21:14-16 NKJV
Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. [15] But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were indignant [16] and said to Him, "Do You hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"
When Jesus was around, children instinctively knew who He was and they weren't quiet about it.
Boy, did it wind up the religious leaders, who had a jealous eye on Him.
Watch kids at a football match, singing about their favourite players and you get the idea of the noise the children were making in the Temple area.
It wasn't very dignified or "religious", but it was worship from the heart.
Spontaneous "heart praise" is what delights the Lord, may it ever be my response to Jesus.
May I never grow old in my worship of the One who freely laid down His life for me.
Lord Jesus save me from becoming religious, keep me in childlike adoration from my heart.
You deserve wildly passionate worship!
