2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NKJV
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. [14] And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. [15] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
The most deceptive form of evil is when it "appears" to be good.
Many people have been put off Christianity by "churchianity" - having a form of "godliness" but denying the power thereof.
The Bible predicts that this will be a sign of end times (2 Timothy 3:5).
As a fallen angel, Satan knows what the atmosphere of Heaven is like. So, being the greatest deceiver of all, he leads many into false "religious" experiences counterfeiting the heavenly and bringing a transcending veil over the Truth.
If he can't tempt someone into destructive sin, or convince that there is no god, he will lead into false religious experiences. Yes, anything to divert someone away from the need for the Cross of Jesus.
I personally know lovely people who are deeply in to such deceptions - relying on hot stones and meditation for healing.
Rather than going to the True Source of Light (Jesus) they are diverted into something nebulous - whereby there's no confronting our desperate need of a Saviour.
These are days when each of us need to rightly understand God's Word so that we too are not deceived by the "master deceiver" and so robbed of our salvation.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: [2] For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, [4] traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
