“So let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] Lord [to honour, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn, And He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”
Hosea 6:3
I remember watching a cup match my team played against Reading. The first half was an absolute disaster 4:1 down at half time with an exodus of many supporters.
My nearest and dearest urged me to switch off the tv, "your team is no good", but I determined to see it out through gritted teeth.
Amazingly enough, my team clawed back the deficit and in extra time came back to win it 7:5!
It was a moment of great elation when the full time whistle blew. What a come back!
That's sport, just a game - a momentary victory where the joy soon dissipates!
However there is a great "come back" on the horizon which will herald eternal joy for those "who love His Appearing".
Jesus is coming back to reign.
There will be no doubt or end to His kingdom!
His Return is as certain as the dawn.
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
Revelation 1:7
Old and New Testaments predict it and we are on the very cusp of events that will see it happen.
How many "supporters" have given up and thrown away their belief? How many have let their love grow cold in the many difficulties that face us today?
Don't be like those who gave up on the team!!
What a disappointment those supporters must have felt when they missed out on such a come back!
Hebrews 10:35-36 AMPC
Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. [36] For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.
Stay with Jesus until "full time", the victory is as certain as the dawn!
Selah!
