Isaiah 53:11 NLT
When He sees all that is accomplished by His anguish, He will be satisfied. And because of His experience, My Righteous Servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for He will bear all their sins.
Hebrews 12:2 NLT
Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
John 15:13 NLT
There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.
Arnon Zmora went into Gaza knowing that his life was on the line. His eyes were wide open to that fact.
Yet he didn't flinch because he longed for the freedom of the hostages.
So he took the fight to the captors and paid the ultimate price as he took the fatal bullets - he daringly went in first.
Now 4 people are free and back home with their families.
We marvel at such bravery, don't we? And, our hearts go out to his family who mourn his passing.
There is a huge cost to pay for our freedom - we remembered that on the recent D Day commemorations.
But Jesus fought a battle no one else could fight - for freedom from death and sin.
He bravely took the satanic blows on the Cross and lay down His Life so that we, the hostages to our fallen natures, could be rescued.
The end result was the motivation.
None of the 4 hostages wanted to remain in Gaza - they eagerly grasped the opportunity to be released.
Yet so many lost people stay stuck as hostages to sin when glorious freedom is offered by Jesus!
Pray for their awakening...
