The Birth of all births

Matthew 1:24-25 NKJV

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, [25] and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.

John 1:14 NKJV

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Imagine the Son of God being forced down the birth canal from Mary's contracting womb.

Those who have witnessed a human birth will tell that it is a bloody and painful business.

Painful yes for the mother, but traumatic indeed for the baby.- especially this Baby - who was on Mission Impossible - save humanity from our fallen state.

Would He make it - no "call the midwife", no maternity ward, no cesarian section available if thére were problems.

The infant mortality rate back then was 50% - factor in the issue of the journey to Bethlehem, the accommodation - yet Jesus agreed to be stripped of His glory and be susceptible to these elements!

Astounding indeed - amazing love that was poured out - Love truly came down at Christmas.

Have a blessed day - remember the message that the angels brought:

Luke 2:10,14 NKJV

Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. [14] "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

That is extended to you and me this very moment - take a moment to take it in.
