9The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
10 All your works praise you, Lord;
your faithful people extol you.
11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.
14 The Lord upholds all who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.
Psalm 145
I have been discouraged recently. When I've shared Jesus with others it seems to fall on deaf ears.
Like when you ring someone and there's no answer... ring ring... then nothing. So you end the call.
Or, like when seeds are sown in the garden and nothing comes up.
This year we bought a polytunnel and sowed fennel, aubergine and kohlrabi seeds. Each day we looked for a sign of growth. The aubergine didn't sprout. There was not a sign of anything where the seed had been sown. The fennel and kohlrabi grew, but, even then, some plants didn't make it. They were eaten by slugs.
So my nearest and dearest sowed some different seed. That has already sprouted.
Lesson learned: keep on sowing, keep on telling about Jesus. Not every seed will grow.
Remember the parable that Jesus told about the sower...
But as for me.... I mustn't give up.. I must continue to keep on telling!
"Your FAITHFUL people extol you. They TELL of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendour of your kingdom.
Father God, may I faithfully continue to TELL of Your mighty acts and pass on the Good News of Jesus
