Taken

Luke 17:34-36 AMPC

I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. [35] There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other will be left. [36] Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.

Luke 21:36

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

Terrible judgement is going to fall on this Christ rejecting world.

Jesus talked about it at length, citing the days of Noah and Lot as examples of how it will be.

What was distinctive about those times, what did they have in common?

Genesis 6:5 NLT

The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.

Genesis 18:20 NLT

So the LORD told Abraham, "I have heard a great outcry from Sodom and Gomorrah, because their sin is so flagrant.

Pride and shamelessness in sinning was the common denominator.

Look around at this world - we are headed in that direction again - cataclysmic consequences are about to be unleashed.

However, Jesus promised His followers that they would be taken out before judgement falls.

Indeed, pray that we will be strengthened to stand up for Jesus and stand before Him.

Noah escaped by being in the ark, Lot by fleeing from Sodom.

In the same way, we need to be in Jesus (our blessed Ark) and run from the wickedness engulfing society.
