Psalm 91:1-6 NKJV

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." [3] Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. [4] He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. [5] You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, [6] Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

There's nothing uncertain about the promises of God for each of His followers.

Reading this Psalm there's no room for doubt about His faithful protection bestowed with loving kindness on His children.

There's no "perhaps" or "maybe" or "Russian roulette" type lottery - oh no, there's "surely", and "shall" to stand on.

What's the reason behind the certainty of such bold promises?

The answer lies in this Psalm...

Psalm 91:9-10 NKJV

Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, [10] No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

Making the Lord your only refuge and staying there under His protection means He is contractually bound by His Word to keep and protect you.

Who wouldn't want that kind of security in such a chaotic world.

It doesn't mean that we never have troubles or trials, for Jesus said in this world you will have tribulation. Yet He goes on to promise, but, take courage, I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 NKJV

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

These precious promises are ours as we travel through dark times.
