Sudden terrors or troubles

Proverbs 3:25-26 NKJV

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; [26] For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Notice the verse doesn't "if" it comes - no, it's "when" it comes.

Each of us must face some evil impact that comes suddenly, unexpectedly, out of the blue.

That satanic, "roaring lion", has a pack of prowling demons on the look out for some believer caught unawares.

As with any lion, we know it stealthily tracks its prey, hiding in the long grass until the last minute, ready to pounce on the unsuspecting target.

Perhaps that's why we see famous Christian leaders fall prey to the evil one? Satan has had a long term strategy knowing what damage it will do to the flock - scattering and shattering their confidence.

Peter knew what it was to be "sifted as wheat" by the evil one. However, the mercy of Jesus restored him and humbled his pride.

Therefore he could write from hard experience:

1 Peter 5:6-11 NKJV

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, [7] casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. [9] Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. [10] But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. [11] To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

When sudden trouble comes, remember that, the God who loves you so, has permitted it only for a good outcome.

He will use it to strengthen and establish your faith. He will keep your foot being caught!

Psalm 124:6-8 NKJV

Blessed be the LORD, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. [7] Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. [8] Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
