Strong Tower

Proverbs 18:10 NKJV

The Name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

So I'm chatting to my nearest and dearest on Skype when the air raid siren starts its ghostly sound.

Said nearest and dearest is so intent on his conversation that he doesn't hear it (that's the kind version)!

"Get into your safe room!" I say several times in a loud voice.

To explain, all Israeli homes have a bomb proof room to run to.

He beats a hasty retreat.

It reminded me of the above verse.

Wow! Amazing comfort is drawn from this promise.

We all need a "tower of strength" in which to shelter when life strikes a shocking blow, don't we?

Now I make no claim to be righteous of myself. However, in Jesus, I have a righteousness, from Him, by faith in His Eternal "once for all" death on the Cross.

I can run to Him in times of need and, believe me, I am in that "Tower" right now, holding the situation out in Israel up to the Name of Jesus.

That, not only for my nearest and dearest, but for all the innocent thrust into the crossfire of war without any warning.

My prayer is that many will join me in the Strong Tower of Jesus and run to Him.

Please don't try to brave life out in stubborn independence. The Door is open today - come find shelter in Him.

Romans 10:13 NKJV

For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.
