Starring roles

Psalm 68:1 Arise, O God, and scatter all your enemies! Chase them away!

Enemies have a powerful starring role in our lives, shaping our characters until we become Christlike.

In this life, the work will never end.

Run from one enemy before God has finished the lesson and another one will be placed in our path presenting the same challenge to our fleshly nature.

So if I have a recurring situation perhaps it's because I've failed to learn the lesson.

Looking back, certainly I can see myself running from similar kinds of challenges only to be faced with another!

But God is determined to mould and replicate the image of Jesus in us.

Relentlessly, the Holy Spirit will chase us down until we submit to the Potter's Hand.

Jeremiah 18:1-6

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

You can replace Israel's name with your own, because, as a believer in Jesus, you belong to the Lord.

Better not run, but humbly give in!

We all want our enemies to be scattered just like the Psalmist prays, but at times, the enemy has a starring role in bringing about their own downfall and God's glory!

Satan thought he had won at the cross, but it brought about his greatest, eternal defeat.

1 Peter 5:8-11 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

The starring role of your enemy maybe the key to your biggest breakthrough!
