Psalm 91:1 AMPC
He who dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
"Stable and fixed" - how marvellous to live like that today - when everything is in a state of flux.
So I ask myself: "where do I live?" because that is the crux of the matter in these turbulent times.
Do I live in my house? Physically "yes" - but what is the basis of my life? Where is the anchor of my soul?
If the centre of my existence is anywhere but in Jesus then I'm riding for a fall.
Jesus told it this way:
Matthew 7:24-27 TPT
"Everyone who hears My teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. [25] When the rains fell and the flood came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation. [26] "But everyone who hears My teaching and does not apply it to his life can be compared to a foolish man who built his house on sand. [27] When it rained and rained and the flood came, with wind and waves beating upon his house, it collapsed and was swept away."
Those in LA who prided themselves in their mansions and luxury lifestyles find it all in ashes - for all in this tangible world is subject to change and decay.
Even the most physically fit person has to surrender to "the march of time".
It's time to be run to the Almighty - in His care is the only place to be stable and fixed.
Jesus calls through the chaotic winds of change:
Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. [29] Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."
