Proverbs 29:25 AMPC The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever leans on, trusts in, and puts his confidence in the Lord is safe and set on high. Psalm 91:2-3 AMPC I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! [3] For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
Snares are vicious and illegal - they are sharp nooses which lie in wait, hidden among the undergrowth, to catch an unsuspecting animal.
Once caught, the more the creature tries to escape, the deeper and more painfully the snare entraps, cuts and slowly kills, unless someone comes to rescue them.
Satan uses many different kinds of "snares" to drain the life out of our faith.
Fear is one of the most common ones and can catch any of us.
Fear of man, fear of tomorrow, fear of death .. so many fears on the horizon.
We don't see the noose of his barbed attacks, because he hides in places which seem safe and ordinary.
Constantly, we need to trust Jesus.
Even if we do get caught, He will come to our rescue.
Psalm 124:6-8 AMPC Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth! [7] We are like a bird escaped from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! [8] Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
The biggest fear of all is death - but Jesus has broken that snare once and for all who trust in Him.
Hebrews 2:14
Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
Thank You Lord Jesus for rescuing me from the many snares Satan has entrapped me in during my life.
