Psalm 121:1-8 NLT
I look up to the mountains- does my help come from there?
[2] My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth!
[3] He will not let you stumble; the One who watches over you will not slumber.
[4] Indeed, He who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. [5] The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.
[6] The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.
[7] The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. [8] The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
We all have sleepless nights from time to time.
Perhaps worries about circumstances torment or pain or illness keep us awake.
It may seem very lonely at these times.
Yet there is One who is watching tenderly and longs for us to reach out and connect instead of wallowing in fear and turmoil.
His help is peerless. No one else can provide the support and comfort that He can.
I woke about 20 minutes ago but determined to switch on to God's Presence.
This precious Psalm was balm to my soul and not only to mine, but, in prayer, I can bring others to Him who need divine intervention in their lives.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are always there, always aware and always care.
God's help is at hand and on the way.
Matthew 14:24-25 NLT
Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
[25] About three o'clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
Remember the disciples thrashing about in a storm?
That was during the "small hours", but Jesus came to them to bring calm and peace.
He does the very same for each of us as we let Him into "our boat"!
Selah.
