Luke 17:26-30 AMPC
And [just] as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the time of the Son of Man. [27] [People] ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, right up to the day when Noah went into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. [28] So also [it was the same] as it was in the days of Lot. [People] ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; [29] But on the [very] day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed [them] all. [30] That is the way it will be on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
Special attention should be given to the words of Jesus concerning His Return.
So what was the world like in Noah's day?
Genesis 6:12 AMPC
And God looked upon the world and saw how degenerate, debased, and vicious it was, for all humanity had corrupted their way upon the earth and lost their true direction.
Look at the news - is there any correlation with our day and age?
Then what about Lot's time in Sodom. What was that like?
We read that the angels who came to observe Sodom stayed in Lot's house for the night. Look what happened:
Genesis 19:4-5 AMPC
But before they lay down, the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, all the men from every quarter, surrounded the house. [5] And they called to Lot and said, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know (be intimate with) them.
Both of these societies had become violent, greedy and sex obsessed!
The thought that God would judge them was laughingly dismissed:
Genesis 19:14 AMPC
And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, Up, get out of this place, for the Lord will spoil and destroy this city! But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be [only] joking.
So back to Jesus and His warning signs of the End Times.
Carefully consider if we are nearing the Day that Jesus predicted.
Is society becoming more violent, more greedy, more sex obsessed?
Do people laugh at God's laws as if they mean nothing? You judge the times!
Then ensure that you have run to Him for salvation.
He is the ONLY place of safety in these dangerous and distressing days.
