Isaiah 9:2 NKJV
The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
This prophecy speaks in the past tense, even though it was hundreds of years before Jesus arrived on the earthly scene.
That's how trustworthy God's promises are - in God's eyes, Who is outside of time, it's done.
The Light has shined!
Remember the first pronnouncement in Creation by the Lord was "Let there be Light".
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I Am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
Walk down any road, coming up to Christmas, and you'll see many lights in gardens on houses.
It does brighten up the long winter evenings.
Yet whatever counterfeit light this world offers is battery powered and temporary. It is bound to fail and fade.
It may shimmer and twinkle for a while - the pleasures of sin for a season - but evaporates like the morning mist.
However, when Jesus' Eternal Light shines in a heart it's forever.
I count myself so privileged to have been included in this, not of any merit of my own.
To have gone from dark to light because of Jesus is amazing - I'll never get over it.
Shine Jesus shine throughout this dark world - shine in Israel, shine in this land.
Shine on dark hopeless hearts.
Shine with Your loving kindness and eternal hope.
We need You.
