Selah!

Psalm 46:7 AMPC

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

There's a big "selah" moment for me this morning.

I've been watching every segment of news from Israel, praying and worrying intermittently - almost spiritually wearing myself out.

Now the Lord has managed to reclaim my attention and place it on Him.

To pause and calmly meditate on the Presence of the Lord of hosts (of His angels - Heaven's mighty army) - the God of Jacob (Israel's God) - Who is a Tower of Strength - it actually calms things down.

Psalm 46:9 AMPC

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

Does mega retaliation make war cease?

This verse puts the real authority in His Hand.

As we pray, as we trust, there is a mighty response from the Lord.

History is ultimately in His Almighty Hand.

Psalm 46:10-11 AMPC

Let be and be still, and know (recognise and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! [11] The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

The "rubber hits the road of faith" when situations are up close and personal.

Do I believe? Do I trust?

Time to pause and calmly think of the Lord.

He won't slumber or sleep. He watches over Israel.
