Psalm 46:1-3 AMPC
God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. [2] Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, 3 Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
The "right now" of God's Presence is something I know in my head but often, in bad times, forget with my heart.
This morning this precious Psalm comes to mind, reminding me that God is here in this moment.
Through Jesus, I have the promise He will never leave or forsake me.
Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never, never fail you nor forsake you.”Hebrews 13:5
That gives huge strength for the day ahead, even though it may seem I have a mountain before me.
What are mountains to God?
Are they not His stepping stones?
Can He not crumble them with just a word from His Mouth?
Hard times are a fact of life, but know this - God's help is in the "right now", strengthening and hardening me to difficulties:
Isaiah 41:10 AMPC
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
