Matthew 10:25-27 AMPC It is sufficient for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant or slave like his master. If they have called the Master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they speak evil of those of His household. So have no fear of them; for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops.
NLT: But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.
We've all watched movies where the baddies get their comeuppance! There's something so gratifying about it. More so when it happens in real life.
We all have that sense of justice deep in our hearts - God put it there.
Sometimes, though, it does seem like bad people have gotten away with it!
In the Psalm 13 David prays a prayer that we all have prayed in our time:
O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?
Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall.
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.
There is a Day of Reckoning coming! Be at peace.
