1 Corinthians 11:23-25 AMPC
For I received from the Lord Himself that which I passed on to you [it was given to me personally], that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was treacherously delivered up and while His betrayal was in progress took bread, [24] And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance. [25] Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.
"Broken for me, broken for you, the Body of Jesus, broken for you.
This is My Body, I give for you.
Eat it remembering I died for you.
This is My Blood I shed for you
For your forgiveness making you new."
"And Jesus said this bread is My Body broken, broken for you
And Jesus said this wine is My Blood poured out in Covenant anew
And each time you take this Holy feast you tell how I have died for you
And you are nourished by My love and My eternal life breaks through
One Bread - the True Bread of Life
One Cup - The New Covenant
One Lord - Jesus Christ"
Jesus comes to each of us individually asking us to eat the bread and drink the cup to remember and retell of His Passion.
Just like He told His disciples, He tells each of us:
Luke 22:15 NKJV
Then He said to them, "With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer"
With us, of course, it's AFTER He has suffered!
It's not a ritual that can only be done by certain people in a certain place - it's personal, it's an intimate time, one on One with the Saviour.
It's a spiritual meeting with physical bread and wine. Something we can touch and ingest until we see Him face to face.
1 Corinthians 11:26 AMPC
For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying and proclaiming the fact of the Lord's death until He comes [again].
Jesus, by the prompting of the Holy Spirit, reminded me this morning to come quietly and celebrate what brought me to Him.
He really was "Broken for me" "Broken for you"...
Remember!
