Remember the prisoners

Hebrews 13:3 NKJV

Remember the prisoners as if chained with them-those who are mistreated-since you yourselves are in the body also.

Father God, help me to keep praying for those imprisoned.

There are all kinds of prisons that keep people bound.

At present we especially pray for those hostages in Gaza. Only God knows what they are going through.

We're asked to pray as if we were chained with them. That would emit cries of deep desperation to the Lord.

Sometimes the situation is so dark, all we can do is groan in the spirit.

God is able to interpret those sighs and groans into prayer.

Romans 8:26-27 NKJV

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

When you don't know what to pray just cry for help.

Psalm 130:1-2 NKJV

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; [2] Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications.

There are other "prisoners" that need our prayers - those that are grieving lost loved ones, those imprisoned by pain and disease, those in the dungeon of poverty, hunger and war.

We cry out for Divine intervention in lives.

Jesus Hope of the world, blessed Saviour, our cries go up to You for those in chains to terrible circumstances - have mercy, dear Lord, as we cry to You:

Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done.

Psalm 130:3-8 NKJV

If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? [4] But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. [5] I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. [6] My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning- Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. [7] O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption. [8] And He shall redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
