Psalm 121:7 NKJV
The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.
We our encouraged on all fronts to take care of our bodies - eat the right food, exercise daily, drink plenty of water etc etc...
But what about our soul? - that intangible part of us that thirsts for something other than what we can see, hear or touch?
Are we so stuck in the confines of this world that we forget about our souls?
Is that why we try to cram our lives with the quest for things and material wealth?
Jesus put His finger on this crucial issue:
Mark 8:36 NKJV
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Jeffrey Epstein amassed vast wealth and influence, but used it to gratify his own nefarious desires and other so called powerful people.
He may have seemed untouchable for a time, but his demise came with the loss of his soul! He put no value on the things that really matter and his loss was immense and eternal.
Take a moment to evaluate how much care you are taking of your soul.
It is the part of you that will last forever - either in Heaven or in Hell.
Hear the invite that Jesus extends to all who will hear:
Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I Am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Yes we all need to work at something in this life, let's make sure we are wearing 'the yoke" that Jesus wants so that our souls are not squeezed out and belittled.
Feed your soul on God's Word and take time listening to and just being with the Saviour who loves you so.
That is the path of life.
